This is marked 2003. Action photo. It was a different time.
My my my, It's a beautiful world
I like swimming in the sea
I like to go out beyond the white breakers
Where a man can still be free,
Or a woman if you are one
I like swimming in the sea

<![CDATA[Snow Portland 2003]]>Sun, 14 Jul 2019 03:14:26 GMThttp://akebonovision.org/journal/snow-portland-2003
It apparently snowed in the courtyard of our apartment building in 2003. The Kodak EasyShare was really just like a polaroid. You got what you got and there wasn't much fussing with settings on the camera.

The tranquility that comes when you stop caring what they say. Or think, or do. Only what you do.

<![CDATA[Bamboo Grove]]>Sat, 13 Jul 2019 06:52:51 GMThttp://akebonovision.org/journal/bamboo-grove
This is one of the pictures I took for my internship. It was pretty early in my learning photography. I remember at the time a significant amount of time was spent fighting the technology. The camera was one thing but USB connections were pretty new and I remember having to fight with the computer to get the drivers to work so it would allow the USB camera to download.

I was trying to capture the density of the bamboo grove. Its bamboo I suppose. The photo is only really notable because of its early date. The photo is dated 2002. This is the first in a long list of plant photography. Haha. Enjoy.
<![CDATA[Old Photography, Portland circa 2003]]>Fri, 12 Jul 2019 03:24:44 GMThttp://akebonovision.org/journal/old-photography-portland-circa-2003Picture
I wanted to start this off with some old pics. Here is one from old Portland before the recent era. I am not sure where it was taken, maybe somewhere up on Sandy... I do know that it was one of my first digital pictures. Taken with a Kodak EasyShare something it was a far cry from todays DSLR cameras. An interesting tidbit is that I started this webpage so I could finish my internship and I needed to buy that camera to take those pictures for that project.

<![CDATA[Year 3???]]>Sat, 06 Jul 2019 16:52:11 GMThttp://akebonovision.org/journal/year-3First I just wanted to reference the last post almost a year ago...yes, its still the Trump era, and yes he is still an idiot. At his July 4th rally he decided to mumble something about the revolutionary war soldiers capturing all the airports...wtf.]]><![CDATA[Close to the Bottom]]>Wed, 18 Jul 2018 03:50:32 GMThttp://akebonovision.org/journal/close-to-the-bottomIt is the 17th of July and Trump has hit a new low, I didn't really think it was possible. I don't really have much to say that everyone else hasn't already said...and they seem to say it better. I really don't want to dwell on it. I just felt like it needed to be said. For the future reader...This was the day after he went and had a meeting with Putin, didn't tell us what the meeting was about, and then came our on stage to tell us Russia didn't attack our elections. But then today came out and said he misspoke and instead of saying "would" what he really meant was "wouldn't".

Yeah ok, he must think we are all stupid...or that we all want someone who doesn't say what he means as the President. He seems to have a problem explaining himself.

On the website front I still haven't been able to figure out the design and organization....maybe I need to do some research...
<![CDATA[A New Beginning...]]>Fri, 13 Apr 2018 03:55:52 GMThttp://akebonovision.org/journal/a-new-beginningToday we mark a new beginning for AkebonoVision. I have thought about it and this website is entering into its 15th year. We have had a lot of new beginnings here. It is probably worth doing every few years. I am not the same person I was in 2003 and the blog posts would prove that. As the years go by I find some hard to read and I don't really identify with them anymore. It is good to kinda dump that database. Those posts are not gone though...I have just removed them from the active database. The Vision has gone nowhere...we just took a year off. We are back.]]>
